Harvest: “She’s such a great kitty!!”

November 20, 2011

Harvest is doing great!  She’s such a great kitty!!  She’s adjusted very nicely.  Seems very happy and social.  She eats a lot!  Loves attention and is getting plenty of it.  I am attaching a few random shots of her lounging around, but don’t let them fool you as she is extremely playful.  I couldn’t be happier with her.  Thanks again for all your help.  I really appreciate it!!

Best,

 David

Volunteer of the Month: November 2011

November 20, 2011

Congratulations to Meredith B., our new volunteer of the month! Meredith has been volunteering for KittyKind for nearly 5 years. She started volunteering because she lived in a no-pets building and missed the interactions with animals. After moving, she has since brought home two KittyKind cats: Chopstick (formerly Chipmunk) and Thomas (formerly Tyler). Chopstick is a wild card and a character with such a crazy personality, and Thom-as is a love-bug who cannot get enough cuddling in a day. “They pretend not to like each other but I always catch them napping together!” she says. Meredith’s favorite part of volunteering? “I love being able to spend a bit of time with cats who cheer up so much with a little bit of petting and attention, and I have made fantastic friends on the fabulous Wednesday night shift.” Meredith would like everyone to know that she is really grateful for KittyKind giving her great friends and great cats. Thank you Meredith, for all that you do, you are a truly wonderful volunteer!

The Cute & Playful Tango

November 20, 2011

Tango is doing well.  She’s running and jumping all over the apartment.  She and Bailey are getting along well.  At first, it looked like Bailey was unsure whether Tango was fighting or playing.  Bailey would just keep her distance and ignore Tango’s playful swats.  But now they chase each other around and both seem to be having fun.  I am sending you some pictures.  I have been trying to take nicer pictures on my real camera, but they seem to prefer being cute only when I have my cell phone camera out!

Rubi (aka Honey); The rubenesque and happy cat!

November 20, 2011

Honey, who we now called “Rubi” because of her Rubenesque figure, has settled nicely in her new home. She was a little nervous at first but you can tell she really wanted to be with people. She started sleeping with us on the second night and will always spend a few hours in bed with us; often making biscuits. The best thing in the world is when she wraps her paws around our feet and rests her head on our ankles. If you move a bit, you can feel her little paws tapping and pulling your leg back so that she can snuggle up again. In the morning Rubi gets up as soon as she knows we’re awake and the instant we get out of bed she storms out into the living room to her toys so that we will play with her. She’s a funny one. Of all the toys that she has her favorites are; a piece of string tied to a stick and wadded up pieces of paper. Rubi will play with these for hours a day batting them up and down the hallway. Everywhere we go in the apartment, turn around and she’s there with you. She’s a sweet, fat, happy cat and we are lucky to have her.
