Sylvester, 8 months……….Sufferin’ succotash this is a cool cat! 8-month-old Sylvester is spunky and waiting for a home he can run around chasing Tweety in. This cute and playful black and white boy is full of energy, and a plate-full-of purrs. A little confused and upset living in the cage, he zooms back to his rambunctious and funny self with a little bit of love and breathing room.

Tamarind and Little Tiger Find a Home

December 29, 2008
Tamarind (Originally known as Scilla)

Tamarind (Originally known as Scilla)

Little Tiger

Little Tiger

On October 2, 2008, we adopted Little Tiger (10 months old) and Scilla (aka Tamarind, 6 months old) from Kitty Kind at Petco. We visited a couple of times before deciding to adopt Little Tiger, and possibly her cage mate Valentine….until Leisa met Scilla (aka Tamarind). Leisa was so excited after meeting Tamarind that we HAD to go back ASAP and adopt the two. While we were filling out the paperwork, several people saw Tamarind and REALLY wanted her. We are very thankful that we were the lucky ones and got Tamarind AND Little Tiger.

They didn’t like the taxi ride home all that much, and kept to themselves and their separate rooms for the first day, but ever since they are best friends; sleeping and playing together, as well as bathing each other more than any cats that either of us have owned.

Tiger immediately took to the window perch and loves to watch the outside world. She absolutely loves her fuzzy balls that I got her at Petco and now plays fetch with them. She will play fetch with us and use the balls alone for hours on end without tiring. She also loves to sit on clothes after they come out of the dryer and has been known to sleep on my towels, after pulling them down from the towel rack. Keeps me doing my laundry a little more frequently :p

Tamarind had a little mouse toy when we adopted her, and she really loved it. We have bought her more and she will play with them for hours! She is a very affectionate little kitty and has become quite the little lap cat, as well as computer cat; although her typing skills haven’t improved, no matter how much practice she gets ;p. She also likes to sleep with us, as demonstrated when she lies on TOP of Leisa and I when we sleep. I have never met a cat who likes water as much as she does either…although she has been a little more timid around water after falling into the shower.

We are very thankful for the rescuers and volunteers who made this all possible and whole-heartedly recommend Kitty Kind to everyone.

Thanks!

Todd and Leisa

Grasshopper the Cat, a Happy Ending

December 23, 2008

grasser

Happy Holidays from Grasshopper the cat!

After three years, Grasshopper is still enjoying life to the fullest — and he’s still my little buddy. 2008 has been a good year for him. He recently figured out that laps are nice places for cats, and he now spends a good bit of time collapsed on people, purring his heart out. Grasshopper has also appointed himself official loaner cat to any guest who spends the night. Visitors can’t get enough of him.

This year, Grasshopper also learned that he can show ultimate affection without biting people’s noses. Most of the time he settles for rubbing heads, but for important occasions, he will put his teeth up against a nose and gently close his kitty lips over it. It’s very sweet and shows a good deal of consideration for fragile human beings.

Attached are some pictures. I hope you enjoy them. As always, many thanks to
KittyKind.

Meet Jett, a KittyKind Cat, NYC

December 19, 2008

jett

Jett is an all black 2 year old male heart throb. He needs a place to feel needed again. Jett is uncomfortable and lonely in a cage. Jett is extremely intelligent, and has a huge personality waiting to come out to his lucky family. Jett needs a chance to spread his wings and return to his former, suave, sage self. Give Jett the opportunity to be your confidant, your sidekick, and your friend.

P.S Jett loves sitting at the window, watching the birds. He also is very active and playful. And, yes, he HATES the cage!!!

Joan and June Find Loving Home

December 18, 2008

june_joan

Both mother, June and daughter, Joan are doing wonderfully well and are a welcome and playful addition to our home. Our beloved cat Maude, who we lost to cancer last month, would have been delighted by their playfulness and intelligence. They are special, playful and inquisitive as all kitties – yet very Zen like – we are very happy and they seem to be as well.

We are impressed by and grateful for Kitty Kind regarding the care of the little ones and the professionalism of the volunteers – and of course June & Joan.

Thank you –
Sincerely –
Misa & Kate
