How about "Is there room on the subway for a homeless pet?". When people can take a larger dog - too big for a bag, etc. - on public transport it can make it much easier to adapt their lifestyle to having a new pet. This is allowed on urban transit in Boston, Calgary, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto (also on vehicles of the carshare operator Autoshare)... also "Old Amsterdam" and most cities in Europe... how about in NYC, if just off-peak, for a ride to a friend or a different park? I saw her at the Petco, too. She really stood out to me, but we have two cats already and my live-in boyfriend is allergic to cats and on shots.
